Educational tool

Raising young people’s awareness of racism against Roma* and Sinti* at eye level – but how? The peer trainers trained as part of the project to develop an educational tool, which they take with them to their workshops, to use as an introduction to a discussion or simply show during the break to create interest.

The educational tool can be designed in many different ways. The Berlin peer trainers chose a 15-minute forum theatre performance in which they highlight the history of discrimination against Roma* and Sinti*since the 1970s and use their play to ask the question: What now? How can we finally end discrimination and live in a more just society? In line with the Forum Theatre method, they invite the audience to develop their own answers and playfully try them out together on stage. The theatre performance premiered at Festiwalla in June 2021 in Berlin.
